About

Welcome to the Middle-Brook Regional Health Commission (MBRHC) website! Here you will find information about the governmental public health resources available in the four towns served by MBRHC: Green Brook, Warren, Watchung and Bridgewater. The Commission is pleased to have been providing residents and business owners with a variety of quality public health programs and services for over 50 years to help improve the health status of the communities we serve.

Our Mission: to improve the health of our community and environment through the use of prevention services, health promotion and protection strategies.

Our Vision: Healthy People and Places – A Healthy Community.

The Commission is made up of four municipalities, each with its own Board of Health. Each Board meets several times a year to discuss issues particularly relevant to its town. In addition, each town appoints two members to serve on the Commission, where broader public health concerns affecting all four municipalities are addressed. The Commission meeting schedule, agenda, minutes, budgets and members can be found here. For a full list of meetings, click here.

In addition to the ongoing public health services such as communicable disease investigation, inspection of retail food establishments and other facilities, the Commission is available 24/7 in the event of a local public health emergency. In such an event, we can be reached via each town’s local Police Department.

We hope that this website will help explain public health’s essential services, as well as describe the many programs and services we provide. Many of these are coordinated in partnership with other organizations in the community and links to those organizations are provided. Please do not hesitate to contact our office with any questions or concerns. If we cannot assist, we will refer you to the appropriate organization. Our main contact information is at the bottom of each page and staff details can be found here.
