Measles & Mumps

The New Jersey Department of Health and the Middle-Brook Regional Health Commission (MBRHC) are urging individuals to be vigilant for measles and mumps. The New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH) confirmed one case of measles in the state so far in 2024 and is now investigating eight suspected cases of mumps in one family cluster in Hunterdon County related to international travel.

The NJDOH and MBRHC are urging individuals to be aware of symptoms of these highly contagious viruses and to stay up to date with measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) shots. If you suspect you or your child is experiencing symptoms of measles or mumps, call your health care provider before arriving at the facility so that the provider can take precautions.
